Streaming online videos through Netflix is easy. You need an internet connection ( fast DSL or cable internet is best if you want to stream HD movies), and a TV capable of connecting to the Internet. Most new TV sets come with Internet capability. If your set does not, then you need to get a little box – there are two really popular ones – Amazon.com makes one called Roku XDS, and Apple makes one called Apple TV (buy version 2). They cost the same, and either one will let you stream movies from Netflix, but if you have an older TV, you are safer with Roku XDS as it has more ways of connecting to the TV set.
That’s pretty much it – hook up TV to Roku and Roku to the Internet, and simply follow onscreen instructions. Yes, you will need an account with Netflix.

Streaming video to TV is easy now. It used to be you had to be a computer geek to do it, but right now it’s a piece of cake. You need only two things:

1. an internet connection – a decent connection is the way to go, like DSL or cable internet
2. a way to get internet to your tv – there are 3 convenient ways:

• • newer TV sets have internet connectivity built in – you plug them directly into the internet box (some even do it wirelessly).
  • If you have an older TV set, you can get a little box, like the Roku XDS from Amazon.com, or Apple TV from Apple ( it’s also sold on Amazon.com). Either one will get your TV on the internet, but Roku XDS is preferable if you have an older TV.
  • Another way is to have one of the newer blu ray players, it may also be internet capable.

Any one of these will work – plug it into the internet, then connect to the TV, and follow onscreen instructions. It’s that simple.
